We are currently camping in a 2000 Coleman Westlake and as the family is growing, we are looking to upgrade.  With a daughter and son, (both 12 yrs old) we are looking for 3 beds and not lossing floor space in the camper.  I found a few 3 bed hybrids that I'm going to look at in 2 weeks at the local RV show.  It's either that or a Coleman Avalon?

I have been looking at HTTs as well.  I came across the 2011 Jayco X18D online, it has 3 pop outs.  I have seen lots of pics online but have yet to see one in person.

Joe,

I know how you like to cook. The kitchen area in both of those is woefully inadequate (and I do mean woefully inadequate) next to the Avalon. Or just about any pup...

If you have not made your decision yet, take a look at the Shamrock or Roo 233S. ONce the slide out is out, there is huge place in the middle of the camper and space for your favorite pass-time "cooking".

I've been seriously eyeing the Shamrock/Roo 233S, and took a close look at them during the DC area RV show.  I liked it for all of the reasons mentioned above.

I also kinda like the Shamrock/Roo 19L for the toy deck, but I'd need to get some toys first to be able to justify it.

The only thing I think I didn't like about them was the canvas.  I really like the way Fleetwood did the bunk ends on their popups, though, with the vinyl on top and sunbrella sides.  It's breathable and keeps the sun down to a reasonable level in the bunk end if you want to take a nap during the day.  Although, I guess you could add some PUGs to it and get roughly the same effect.

There's also a very similar model to the 233S (not made by Forest River) that I saw at the show.  It might have been the Palomino  Stampede Model S-21RGS.  IIRC, the interior of the Shamrock and Roo seemed to have a little more polish, but were reasonably comparable.  Since I was only browsing, I didn't dig into the differences in construction or appliances/options to see which seemed to be built better.

Unless someone in the family wins the lottery (literally or figuratively), I can't justify swapping rigs right now though.  We've only had the current one a year.
