we've had our '07 Roo 23SS for 4 years now and have never had anything more than a trickle of water in the front bunk and never on the rear one.
newer hybrids have better seals and draining channels.
right now, the new Jayco/Starcraft hybrids have the best-designed seal/hinge/drain system on hybrids.
of course, since quality control isn't very good in the RV industry, there'll be ones that will leak. or it's new owners who don't put the canvas away correctly and something gets trapped in the seals when closing up.
but, IMHO, it's an issue of human error, not design error.
I would have to add the Keystone Passport to the list of great bunk end sealing. The canvas is integral to the body and is the inside seal. Also, the Passport is the only one I know that uses Sunbrella for the bunks ends. I looked at over a dozen different brands of HTT's this past year. Only two brands stood out front from the rest. The 2010-2011 Jayco/Starcraft and 2010-2011 Keystone Passport HTT's. They are all a compromise. No one has the build quality I would expect, but these two brands just seemed to have a better handle on quality control and build.

it's great to see Keystone making hybrids again. when we first started looking, they made the Zeppelin II. the 190 model was unique for its size and well made. they even offered a optional hitch receiver on the back.
but they stopped making hybrids the year we were shopping.
glad to see some new floorplans, too.
I looked for a few years flip flopping over buying a hybrid or pup. I pulled the trigger on a pup after hearing, and seeing so many leaking HTT. I changed my opinion towards them after learning that a majority of the damage occurred due to human error. Any tenting that lays over the seal jeopardizes the entire camper. Tenting must be kept inside of the seal to maximize its effectiveness.
We just dropped ours off at the dealer yesterday because the front bunk is still leaking. It has been leaking since we purchased it last summer. They have replaced the seal, took the door off and dried it out and it is still leaking. It does not leak in a hard rain or when towing in the rain but rather when there is a slow rain. They can't seem to find the reason and we are positive there is no canvas in the seal. We have removed the mattress completely and put it on the table, I hold the canvas on the inside while DH closes the bunk. We truely believe the door is slightly off center by just a bit and that the seals on one side are over a portion of the screw heads therefore not allowing it to seal completely. That is the side that leaks. We have had it in 3 times and feel if they can't fix it this time that they need to consider replacing the entire camper. We shall see.

They definately need to be talking to the factory.
OK, they replaced the door and we picked it up. We had a rain on Monday and it leaked worse this time than it did before. They talked with Forest River and we have taken it back down again and FR is/has picked it up and will take it to the factory to repair. I am excited for them to get it done right this time and to get it back and go camping. We had to unload it entirely, including the hitch. That took two loads in the Suburban and we haven't even reloaded what we took out for the winter.
We are thankful FR is concerned and trying to fix this. I have heard nightmare stories on other companies. We just want to pack it up and not have to take things out all the time to take it to the dealer. 6 times since Aug is just too much. Thanks for the suggestion Dan but I didn't see it until now.
