it may depend on what model you buy but most hybrids i know of, have a 13.5 a/c.
the biggest power user is the a/c, second is the microwave.
the lowest watt generator out there that claims it can run most 13.5 a/c's, is the Yamaha 2400. weighs around 70lbs.
are you going to be boondocking or will you be in a campground, around other campers? i ask this because quieter, inverter generators, like the Yamaha, cost more.
if you're boondocking, i recommend a Champion 3500. great customer service and you can get them for around $300. Champion just came out with a 2000w inverter that you can parallel with a second one to run the a/c if you need it. if you don't, a single one will run the microwave and other things.
if you're going to be around others, you'll need the 2400 or bigger. Honda and Yamaha are the gold standard and the quietest ones made but they cost more.
there are a number of new Chinese-made inverter generators now; Kipor, Boliy, Magna, Lifan and others that you'll need 2600w or bigger, that are almost as quiet but are cheaper.
personally, i have a Honda 2000 but i rarely need a/c. my Honda will run the a/c but not at elevation.
if you can afford it, two Honda 2000's are the way to go. 50lbs. each and you can use one for everything but the a/c, and they hold their value.
