Hi everyone!! My name is Brianne and I am a new camper. My boyfriend Paul and I have been together for 7 years and we just bought our first PUP a few weeks ago. We've gone tent camping a couple times, but it wasn't really for us. We are in the process of planning our very first family camping trip and I am so excited! ;D We will be bringing our Saint Bernard Titan, his 7 year old daughter Kaylee, and our 4 month old son Beau. Unfortunately, our trip will be limited to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We have a campground in our hometown, which is where we will be going. Anywhere else would mean us having to take vacation time.  🙁 Any tips and pointers would be greatly appreciated, although I'm sure a lot of it is common sense. We plan on taking Kaylee's bike and a bike that Paul and I will share, but I'm at a loss for other activities to do with her. We also have ingredients for s'mores and pudgie pies, so I'm really looking forward to that!! I look forward to talking to and meeting you all!!

How about a scavenger hunt?  Fishing? Crafts?

Welcome, Brianne. Sounds like you are going to have fun.

Maybe you could let Kaylee make some foil packet meals of her own and help her with the (hot) finished meals. Collect pine cones and help her draw what she sees: ferns, trees, rocks, water and then have her use crayons to color them for a camping scrapbook.

Welcome from south central Kentucky. Anytime and anywhere you can spend a few days camping should always be a welcome event. Weekend trips are more the norm than week-long trips as most of us must still WORK (please excuse the use of four letter words) to support our habbit. As for entertainment for the DD...relax and enjoy. You might just find that the change of space from home to somewhere new will come with its own set of "entertainment" opportunities.

Welcome to CanvasCampers Brianne - the new camper is exciting and we look forward to hearing about your trip.

Here's a thread with a scavenger hunt that might keep the kids busy for a while.

I had purchased cheap 2-way radios to keep in touch with my daughter while she was at the playground or other areas from the campsite.
