Thought I'd introduce myself as I just joined this forum. My name is Tom and I have pretty much camped my whole life and finally "stepped up off the ground" to a pop up when my late wife and I bought a used 2000 Coleman Westlake in June 2001 after freezing our butts off that same February while fishing the Little Red River in Arkansas for some trout. It was when we where in the tent talking and we noticed steam coming off our heads (it was raining/sleeting with thunderstorms!) that we decided to get a pop-up.
My DGF and I have been together for about 7 years now and that Westlake was real beneficial in helping blend our families when we first started dating as I had two daughters from my first marriage (they are now 19 & 21) and she had two sons from her previous marriage (they are now 17 and 20) so it was quite chaotic and fun to say the least; if only I had kept a journal! But it gets better because it was out of one of these trips that our daughter, now 5 materialized.
Fast forward to June of this year when we bought a 1995 Coleman Chesapeake to replace the Westlake we sold in 2010. So far we have gone out three times and it being only my DGF and our 5 yoa DD. Because of her age we have focused more on the commercial campgrounds with activities to keep her busy such as a local Jellystone Campground in Waller, TX (twice) and Splashway RV Park (once).
Here is the camper and the new TV, previous TV got totaled in August.
Set-up at the Campground
Since we have a more capable TV we are looking at getting a HTT. Our area of interest is on one that is 20-23 long, two bunkends and a slideout. My DGF really likes the Roo but we are open and hope to have one by Spring of next year.
