Greetings all! As you can see we are from Florida! Like many of you I frequent other forum(s) about camping.
We are a family of 4 who were occasional tent campers. After a long hot setup/teardown on a camping trip in the beginning of summer 2013, DH and I decided it was time to make life just a little easier when we want to camp. So I spent the summer searching for a camper our little TV could handle here in FL and as of July 2013, we are the proud owners of a 1988 Coleman Columbia.
It isn't much, and we still sometimes have to setup one of the tents for the teen and her friend, but it works well so far. There is no sink, inside stove, propane capability, furnace, or battery power, but we make due. One of the PO removed all of this.
Being new to popups, there is still much for us to learn when it comes to maintenance, repairs, & mods. I am always on the lookout for things to make life just a little more organized or easier while camping.
We haven't camped a whole lot since we got the Columbia, but hope to get more trips in this year. I look forward to chatting and meeting some other campers!
Here is our little setup:
Welcome to CanvasCampers, FloridaCamperGirl from a former long-time resident of Boca Raton. We are happy and really enjoy our life in northwest Georgia now and hope we hear more about your camping and family. We'll be down in Florida at Blackwater River State Park at the end of February, so please arrange some good weather for us! 😉
Welcome from the frigid state of Pennsylvania. It sounded like you were describing my old Columbia ....no sink no stove no battery. It was a great starter camper for my wife and I. Mine didn't have ac like yours or I might have kept it longer
