Hello everyone.
Got a 2004 Fleetwood Taos last spring after a couple of real cheap but quite moldy older popups I tried to fix up. I was working on an 85' Skamper, when I went to Camping World for some supplies and saw the Taos in the lot. My wife didn't want to go look at it, she knows I can be a compulsive buyer, but I talked her into it. Her first words upon entering the camper was "it doesn't stink!". When we first opened the Skamper, it had a massive mouse nest between the screen and window right next to the door and boy did it smell. We cleaned it up and took off the canvas while we worked on the roof...and would't you know it, our local mice made an even worse nest, (and more damage) in the stored canvas.
Well, back to the Taos. My wife thought that our tv would have an easier time with the Taos because it was smaller than the Skamper, and it was already campable vs. the skamper. She foresaw me working on the Skamp all summer and never going camping, so we bought the Taos.
We did go camping with the Taos once, but then I got into a massive floorplan mod which did take the whole summer. Wife was not happy :-[. After the mod was finished, we were all hooked up and ready to go on a trip in the fall when I found my taillight converter had burned out and I had no left turn signals. The weather then turned bad. We definitely plan on a lot of camping this year.
We partially opened the Taos yesterday to check it out after it's "long winter nap" and didn't see any signs of mouse damage yet. 😀 Maybe those dryer sheets worked.
Here's a pic of the Taos in the lot:

Hello 01YZF6
Live in the Lakes region myself, but not on a lake. Used to climb Mt Washington, Jefferson when I was a teen. Past few years been tent camping in the Great North Woods of Maine with the wife and her father.
It isn't quite boon docking, there are fire pits, picnic tables, and an outhouse.
Water supply is from a spring. No electricity, and 70 miles from nearest tarred road. Caucomgomoc Lake

Hope to be able to post a similar picture at some time with the Taos in it. That would make the wife very happy. She loved the mod ,just not how long it took.
We also miss some of our "friends" up there like this one.
