Many years ago I created my first aol account and used the name wizfisher.

This is The Breadbox.  It's the name I use on the Volvo forums I belong to, and it's my TV.

I.ve been thr BEAR since High School in the late 60's. Thr handle carried over through 6 years in the Navy and old classmates still refer to me as BEAR. Bear was unavailable so Grizzly was a natural second choice.

Always remember:

My user name joelmyer was assigned to me in 1988 after I graduated from the Army & went to work for this small east coast computer company.  My name is Joel Myers, but we all know that a name can only have 8 letters.

I've continued to use joelmyer whenever communicating with computers.  It keeps life simple.

grizzly, that video cracked me up! You are right about bears being smart and strong. I think if squirrels were that big, I would be in trouble because they are very smart and have figured out every trick in getting into my bird/hummingbird feeders! At least the bear did take out!  ;D

I was looking for a unique user name on another forum a few year ago. I found an anagram generator online, and ran a few words into it.  Out came "Oranges Rhymed." Supposedly nothing rhymes with orange or purple; purple is my favorite color, so there you are.

Among other things, I design, install and manage computer networks.  "twstdpear" is a reference to "twisted pair" networking cable, and "pear" goes along with "twisted" because I've been described by more than a few people as not quite right.

I'm really not sure about the two missing vowels.  It might have been because I was using "twstdpr" on UNIX systems and they were effectively limited to 8 characters for usernames.  I then probably added the two extra vowels in "pear" so that it would be pronounced correctly when when I started using the name in more places where people weren't as familiar with computer networking were likely to be.

For many years, my user name was joentwkguy = joe network guy because I was also a computer geek.  I have since changed it to JoeCamper because it's more related and many know me easier this way.

Years ago....when I had to come up with a name I went with Islandgirl - simply because I was born on an Island and now live on an island - which I think is pretty cool!
