Hi there,
I've just found this terrific site and am thrilled at all the advice and answers to my questions that I am finding. We just drove home today with our very first PUP, a 2002 Coleman Taos. We've been tenting for over thirty years and need to get up off the ground. Right now, I'm trying to find out the best way to store it for the snowy Vermont winters. Would someone point me in the right direction on this site?
Thanks!
Welcome, wordsabunch! Glad you found us. On the Forum tab at the top of this page, you will find a section on Plumbing & Winterization. Maybe digging through that topic will help you with your winterizing query. There is also a tab for Coleman owners, but I don't see anything specific in there for winterizing; however, you can always start a topic and see what happens!
Welcome from PA!!
My best advice for storing your pup over the winter is to remember to sweep the snow off the roof. I am sure being in Vermont you know that snow is heavy.....and heavy stuff on the roof of a pup isn't exactly a good thing for extended periods.
If you are wondering about covering it or not.....start a new topic on it. One usually is started around this time and the debate starts....to cover or not to cover. Personally I had older pups...1986 and 1992... so I put a tarp over it but with a wooden frame to allow it to breath between the tarp and the pup roof.
If you have a garage or barn, push it in and disregard everything I suggested 😀
