Another mod that I have made is paint can with cement anchors. Due to some campgrounds where I pull up to wooden decks or the soil is real rocky, I have made me some anchors for my awning where high wind is not an issue. I bought 2- 1 gallon paint cans, 2 hook bolts with washers, 1-40 lbs bag of concrete, paint cans of your color, PVC Pipe that your awning leg will fit into. I like to fly wind socks on poles beside my awning legs so I added another pipe in the can. I used a hole saw and drill bit to drill out the holes on the lid to allow PVC pipe and Hook to pass through. I taped the end of one side of the PVC pipe to keep water and concrete from coming in from the bottom when I mix the concrete pour. I mixed concrete a little wetter and slushy, put in my PVC pipe, pour in concrete to almost to the top, install lid with hook bolt with washer, tapped down lid with hammer and tapped softly around sides to get concrete to settle around washer now submerge in concrete. Let cure for 1-2 days, tape up handle and paint your favorite color. I used a under coating spray and taped up an inch from bottom of each can before spraying of under coating to seal the bottom edge and sides due to contact with rocks and gravel. didn't want the bottom to rust and leave marks in floor of camper while in storage. due to not fully cured, I use cardboard to set them on in camper. I store cardboard in a cabinet while camping. Some people get fancy and add flowers to their cans and changethem with the seasons. some people make the PVC pipes longer to hold their Tiki torches better while camping. Use your imagination! Here are some pictures of mine!

Very nice. A thought about the wood decks. Maybe if you add an L bracket inside the can but protruding through the side prior to the cement a screw could be used to screw it down if winds pick up. Could also be useful if a stake could be used through the L bracket on regular ground.
Nice work though I like the custom paint job.

Nice thought on the L bracket! I bet 2-3 on the cans for tiki torches could be useful to stabilize them! Go Dawgs!
