My six year old thought it would be fun to hop on top of the closed PUP and dance on the roof - and of course couldnt help but to step on teh roof vent lid.  Crack. (Thank goodness he didnt step all the way through.)
[My existing vent did not have a powered fan - just a screen.

So I head to Camping World (haphazardly without too much research) and buy a new lid for the roofvent (two different ones with different style hinges) and also a "Fantastic Vent".  Little did I know that Standard Opening was referring to "standard" for TTs not PUPs. My roof vent is smaller than 14x14. (Looks 12x12).

So I said forget it with the replacement lids and I wanted to put a powered fan in anyway...
...but...
The Fantastic Vent confused me just the same.  The overall size of the opening appears to be the same but the insert that comes with the vent (for the inside of the trailer) is much thicker (probably meant for a TT as well).

I have a hard time trying to separate the existing vent frame from the roof (couldnt pry it up).
By this time, It was almost dinner, I had to clean up my mess and DW was getting a little agitated - so I gave up.

I've read a bunch of other threads but not much help with the basics of this mod.
1.  Is there a "standard opening" for PuP vent lids?  Something like 12x12?  (It's def. not 9x9 like Ive seen other places) Where can I get one? (I've looked but cant find anything like I have.)
2.  Is it possible to install the fantastic vent on a PUP with a roof thinner than a TT?
3.  Should my roof be pre-wired for the 12VDC at the roof vent?  If not, how hard is it to fish over power form the cieling light?

I like to think I'm normally pretty handy with this stuff; this had me scratching my head.
...or am I over thinking this?

Sorry I cannot answer your questions except I did a quick search on CanvasReplacements.com and found the possible roof vent lid:  http://www.canvasreplacements......04c5e5443f

They have an 800#ad were very helpful to us a few times when we needed parts - PUP and TrailManor.

Good luck.

I just replaced mine and mine was 9" opening.
From the research I did I only was able to find 2 sizes. 9" and 14"
Again mine was 9"
Measure the opening itself and make sure you not measuring the outer edge of the molding.
Unless you have an odd ball size it should be 9" or 14" opening.
