Hi all. We are looking to buy our first RV, most likely a pup or HTT. We were at a dealer in Stafford VA yesterday, Clem's RV, and they have a Lifetime bumper-to-bumper warranty program. They claim the warranty covers everything, as long as we pay ($300 yearly), to have the maintenance, checks and services done in their shop.
Does anyone have experience with something like this?
Does it sound fishy to you?
I asked for specifics and they produced a brochure on the spot. They say they are only one of two dealers allowed to use this program in the state.
Thoughts?
all the 3rd party extended warranties i've read about, on various RV forums, don't cover the real/common/expensive issues that RV's have.
like delamination or leaking roof or water damage on a hybrid's bunk door.
and if you buy a Jayco, it comes with a 2 year bumper to tongue warranty.
why would you need an extended one? most issues will become evident within the first two years.
Most lifetime warranties don't expect you to have it very long. I would read the fine print to figure out what the deductible would be and what is covered and what their outs are. Also I would expect that if they are looking at it every year they will scare you into doing many repairs otherwise it would void the warranty. They will make out in the long run.
