The DH and I have been contemplating upgrading from our PUP since we have another LO on the way in December. We're in love with the idea of more space, a bathroom 😉 and a separate sleeping/rainy-day play area for the kids.
We're feeling a bit overwhelmed with the large amount of manufactures around. We've found a floor plan we like (which seems to be a common one across all brands) and have gotten a few quotes from dealerships around us.
Here's where we're feeling a bit torn: we currently have a Jayco pup and love the quality. We do have a dealership close by that sells Jayco TTs, but the dealership is a PAIN to deal with. Horrible customer service and overpriced on most everything. BUT, they have a great price on a left-over 2014 Jayco & it comes with a 2 year warranty which no one else matches. Another dealership close by has a 2015 Coachmen Catalina onsale that is roughly 3K less than the Jayco. The dealership is much better to work with, but we sacrifice a year of warranty.
I know Coachmen has been around for 50ish years, but I heard that Forrest River "bailed" them out a few years ago and purchased the name. I've always thought/heard that Forrest River's quality was a bit off... mainly due to the mass production and ownership over so many brands. This makes me question the quality of the Coachmen. Is that crazy? Since both of these are "sale" prices, we feel like we need to make a decision quickly... but that's a TON of money to spend and not weigh our options. 😮
Sorry for the long rambling post, but any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated!!

Dawn and I have owned 2 Jayco products -- the X17Z and now the X23B. We love them. The 17 was a little bit small, but we were towing with a Honda Pilot. Now that we got our RAM 1500 TV, we upgraded to the X23B. The quality is great and the price is very reasonable when consider the quality of these units. And, the mattresses are very comfortable, something we did not find in other TT's. Also, the Jayco TT's have torsional springs, which are more compliant than leaf springs and greatly reducing bouncing on the road. I don't know what springs Forest River uses.
Jayco itself will stand behind their product. We had issues with the tires on our 17 when travelling cross country in 2012. We had to go to the local trailer shop and have them replaced in order to continue home from Indiana on a Saturday. It cost us $250 when all was said and done. We wrote to Jayco about the issue, and they sent us a check for $250. That showed me they stand behind their product.
