I'll be the first to admit I'm a serious Papa Uniform Fifty-Five Yankee when it comes to needles and injections. As such I once again blew off the annual flu shot. Now, I'd give anything to not have to go through this crud.
My stomach and chest muscles have been strained from the constant hacking and sneezing.
My fever has fluctuated from almost normal to 101. (Josh's was near 103.)
I have zero stamina, haven't slept for more than 90 minutes at a time but am in bed nearly all day.
For a guy like me who loves to both cook and eat this is hell. The best I've done in 4 days is 1/2 a sandwich and 1 cup of soup.
Folks, this s*it is not fun. I'm advising you to get the shot - even now. You won't be disappointed.
Last night I ended up in the ER. Long story short, the flu managed a vicious Round 2. What little food and water never stayed in my body more than 15-20 minutes after consumption. You don't need the gory details, but suffice it to say, it didn't care which end it left from.
I got an inhaler to relax my lungs and some pills for something else.
Today was the first day in almost 10 that I can remember what happened through the day. And, as an added bonus, I felt good enough to cook dinner. And better yet, it stayed in me.
Sorry to hear you are under the weather. Sounds like you are finally on the mend.
I don't do flu shots. I've gotten sick following them too many times for it to be a coincidence. I know it isn't the flu that I catch, but I suspect that the flu shot "distracts" the immune system and allow some other disease to sneak in.
