I have a few holidays that are big to me and a lot of it is the look on kids faces...
4th of July: I get goose bumps during fireworks while stopping and thinking about how lucky we are. :clappingani:
Christmas: Manger in the front yard, music playing through the house, sending cards to my friends and family. (I try to avoid a lot of the commercialized side of it.)
Halloween: is a lot of fun especially with kids or the kid inside. ::)
2 days after a certain Irish Holiday is the Italian Holiday, St. Joseph's Day, March 19th.
Yes, I know I have a good Polish name...Ostrowski...but my Mom was Italian. I remember going over to my great Aunt Carmela's House and the Aunts would be cooking. Most of the family would stop by at some point.
My love of the Holiday is also due to attending a Catholic school with Irish Nuns. They always talked about Pat, but never about my guy, Joe.
