Hi All,

I know it’s early to be talking about Winter Songs and such, but there’s not really a lot of Thanksgiving music around (but if anyone has a favorite please speak up!).

What are your personal winter favorites? They don’t have to be holiday-based (such as ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’).

I may be dating myself but Arlo guthrie’s wonderful thanksgiving song  "Alice’s restaurant" comes to mind.

I have been in NJ, FL, and PA and every rock station in the area has played Alices Restaurant usually at noon.  My SIL was mad at my bro one time because he drove around the block to hear the end of the song.  I told her I would have done the same  😀

Isn’t there an updated version that was done in the mid to late 90’s?

Hundreds of songs out there and I am going with Alices Restaurant also.  I’m going to sing the chorus, but I need to wait for it to come around on the guitar again.  That is a Thanksgiving favorite.  :guitar:

One comes to mind – not so much a winter song but one, my friends and I enjoy around a fire once in a while, so long as someone knows a little guitar pickin’. It’s John Prine’s " Fish and Whistle "
