FLU SHOTS !  ughhh

last week the temps were in the 80's/50's for 3-4 days, then in the 60's/30's for a few days. this goes on here for about 2-3 weeks.  prime temps for flu/colds/allergies etc to pop up.

We just had ours yesterday.  Allergy season is at its fall/winter peak here due to farm cropping.

it can really put a damper on weekend plans if not pre-empted!

Yeah, my physician snuck it in on me.  I went in for a script refill and he said, "Wait right there.  One of my nurses will be right with you."

Considering how bad I was down with the flu last year, I was going to anyway (I think).

even if you dont subscribe to the idea of a FLU shot, this is the time of year to at least get a Wellness/Physical check up.

When Larry was in the Army, he had to get the shot. Me on the other hand didn't get it.  I always got a cold soon after and blamed him for it.  Then I tried to make sure when he got the shot, he would be heading out for TDY, so he wouldn't spread the flu germs.  Well, it took just one time of me getting the flu, and living to tell about it. I have never been so sick in my life. It's a yearly thing for me now.

Got mine in September - work makes us get it, but they pay for it too.

Got it 1st week of October when I went for my ongoing allergy shots (stinging insects (honeybees, mixed vespids, etc.).  Got 4 shots instead of the usual 3.

I consider the shot a small price to pay against the flu - had it once 10 years ago, hope I never get it again; I was bedridden for 3 weeks (losing 20 pounds was the only upside, though it came right back and then some once I was able to keep food down again).

My employer offers them free, for anyone who signs up, which I believe is pretty smart. Less sick emplyoyees means more productive time. I've had mine. Been there and done that with the flu and it flat out sucked so I'll keep getting the shot even though it doesn't cover all strains.
