Heading to my son's house yesterday and a driver, who was parked on the shoulder, pulled out right into the front corner of my truck, and my only TV. 🙁

Waiting for insurance determination today. I don't know how extensive the damage is, but there is a kink in the dash beside the right A pillar.

Yeah, I was just the victim. It happened just off I-81 in the Harrisburg area. There's a ramp closed for construction and the other driver wasn't familiar with the area and didn't know how far he'd have to go to turn around (legally). A half mile up the road is a small strip mall where he could have easily made a U-turn.
He was on the shoulder with no turn signals or brake lights. Just as I was beside him he pulled out to make his turn. He admitted the truck he was driving has a big blind spot and he didn't have wide angle mirrors. Based on the skid marks, the cop said I tried to swerve but never made it out of my lane.

Boy do I ever know how you feel! I just went through the same experience just over a month ago.
I had JUST bought a used 2005 Cheverolet Crew Cab:

We were headed to Keystone lake with the camper attached when SMACK a younger couple in a Toyata Tercel smashed into the left front end of my NEW truck:

Ended up being a total loss. I hadn't even made the first payment on it!!! Well about a month later I had haggled enough with my insurance company and the paid it off. I was still out the tag, title and tax and all the extras I had added to the truck.
When all was said and done I ended up with this 2007 Chevrolet Crew Cab:

I hope the other fellow had insurance!! Don't let them low ball you either! Stand your ground and get what you deserve!! Good luck with it and I hope it all comes out good for you.

first off HOW ARE YOU !?
sorry to hear about the idiot, and hope he gets whats coming. hopefully the insurance will cover what the 8yo truck is worth to REPLACE, and not just its current value.
with any pillar/frame damage, it will get totalled more than likely.
I'm banged up and hurting. I have some pre-existing conditions and the last thing I needed was to be thrown against and yanked back by a shoulder harness. Better than no harness, but ... I'll get a better look at the truck tomorrow morning, but it looked like the driver's seat back was twisted.
It may well get totaled. Wouldn't surprise me at all since it took almost the full impact sideways on the wheel and then the other truck's tire apparently rolled up and over my tire. There's even damage on the tip of the antenna, which is twisted and rolled over toward the center?!?

Glad your accident worked out OK in the end, at least as much as possible.
The other guy was driving a company-owned truck and it was insured. Hope it all works out, if not someone's in for a fight!

Estimator determined that the truck is totaled due to twisted frame and bent A-pillar.
The other guy's company made me a fair offer, although I still want to try to get him to do a little better on the price of the cap, and I'm replacing it with a 2007 Chevy Silverado LT1 extended cab. It's in great condition, only has 46000 miles and the dealer has agreed to install a set of running boards.
Should have everything finalized next week.

These things happen ... get distracted with your mind on something other then driving and caution/paying attention become secondary.
Some years back I pulled out ... (I did!) ... in front of two motorcycles. Suddenly I realized what I had just done, hit the brakes and we barely missed a collision (thank God!). Now here's the scary part - I saw them! But it just did not register in my brain - this was the last thing I wanted to deliberately do and as I looked back onto the incident I realized that I had my mind on something else ... I was preoccupied in the attention department. Great driving lesson for me ... I now try and keep my mind where the body is.
