This question is pretty specific to Popups since Hybrids don't have to setup their bathrooms and in this particular case where there is no sewer connection at the camping site.

I have a highwall popup with toilet and shower. If I leave the site to go to a dump station, after you dump you are supposed to then put your tank chemicals in and enough water to fill the bottom of the black tank - how can you do that without having to pop back up, setup the bathroom, put in the checical and water, pop back down and get on the way.

Do you dump, then add it when you get home?

Phil,

Typically, with my previous pup (Coleman Avalon), I would not empty the black water tank till it was full. Maybe 2 or 3 weekends. A full tank will flush better and not leave as many residuals on the bottom of the tank. Then I would set up at home and fill the black water tank with Chem and water. I would try and get a site every third or fourth campout that had full hookups, so I could dump at the site and then use a toilet wand which hooks up to the fresh water and you insert it into the toilet to rinse the tank after it's been emptied.

Other than that, you can get a portable tank(tote) to dump to while you are set up , dump and flush, then empty the tote. You will need a big enough to empty you tank and take a quick flush too. I had a wheeled 27 gal Thetford tote that I could empty my grey and black water to.

Lou
