Our water pump are very loud and appears to be going so I wanted to replace it.  I replaced the one in our old camper with the Shurflo Whisper King pump... very quiet.  I can't find it anymore and I'm not sure why?  What is the equivalent for today's models?

I removed the existing water pump, which was located under the slide out.
There was plastic shaving the the filter screen, not sure from where.

Those plastic shavings are probably from the impeller that moves the water.  That's good that you found it now and not on a camping trip.  Good luck fixing it.

You stated the shavings where in the filter.  The shavings came from your water tank when the drilled it to install the fittings.  The strainer is located between the tank and the pump. It's there to prevent debris from entering the pump. This type of pump has 3 diaphragms. They lose their ability to prime over time. This  is the replacement.  SHURflo 4008-101-E65 3.0 Revolution
