We just purchased a '93 StarCraft and must purchase entire new tent portion. We have been reading the websites & reviews on Bear Creek, Canvas Replacements and Unicanvas. I suspect (but am not sure) that our original tent was a vinyl. It appears that the cheapest replacement is vinyl above the bunks with canvas tent elsewhere of course with vinyl grey windows with screen.
Does anyone know the pros and cons between using canvas vs. vinyl sides?
Also, Bear Creek only seems to offer 3 colors of canvas, none of which we really like. Does anyone know of which manufacturer will be more flexible to offer more options of your replacement tent regarding colors?
Has anyone heard that grey color would mold more easily than other colors?
Most of our camping will be in temperate to warm climates.
thanks, david957
Welcome, David! I can't answer the questions you posed, but I can highly recommend Canvas Replacements' customer service. We dealt with them twice in the past and had to return a part after finding we did not need it. They were terrific about taking it back and only charged a small restocking fee. I would have liked it better had they not charged the restocking fee though. 🙂
