We are thinking of doing a family outing the weekend of the 18th (non camping) but it's not confirmed yet.

I have mixed feelings about Bluerocks.  I tent camped there once - 9/11/2001.....

It is even easier for me to get to than French Creek though so that makes it attractive.

I did double check.  Promised Land does have five sites open year round and they are available.  Not really suggesting it, just confirming that they do have space.

I'd like to do this but it's not very likely that I can.  My wife really is not into the idea at all, which is unusual for her.  My kids are, but they are three and seven and are not used to being away from their mom.  So while they may be really into the idea when we leave, come bedtime it could be a full on disaster.  At which point nobody else in the campground is going to be happy that I came 🙂

We are still talking about it though and the wife knows I would like to.  So again, I'll keep my eye on this and see what happens.

Sounds like Blue Rocks is out.....Spridle has mixed feelings and Mariska didn't like the distance to the bathrooms in the cold (and once pointed out I wasn't too keen on the walk either).

Sounds like Sills or Lazy K.  Anybody have any feelings on those 2?

I just talked with Joe who talked with his contact at French Creek.  Here is the situation.....the campground is open for the winter, but it is on a First Come First Serve basis.  No reservations.  They are working on this sewer project 2-3 sites at a time and since they don't know when they will be at what site they can not guarantee any site or reservation.

I highly doubt that they are going to sell out or that anyone will be stuck with a really crappy site.  Therefore I believe we should do this campout at French Creek.  I am free next weekend, 17-19 and I think Mariska is as well.  Anyone else in for next weekend????  Depending on the weather of course.

I might be interested - Peter would never even consider it, but I could leave my trailer winterized, throw in a few extra heaters (hell I have 2 propane tanks), so I might be in. Cindy can stay with me on the "queen" side and have a warm place to "p".

Alright Phil!!!  Lori and Pete are in the same league.  Lori looked at me tonight and said "you really aren't even thinking of asking me to go on this trip are you?"

I don't know if I'll have any bunks open in my RV, I probably will.  Nathan has ANOTHER birthday party that weekend  :banghead:  When will it stop?

We'll miss you.  I was looking forward to hearing about your house.

I just called and spoke to Chris in the office at the campground.  Everything is on a First Come First Serve Basis.  There is a box and self registration form at the kiosk when you enter the campground.  We are to fill out the form and then put cash or check in the envelope and put it into the box.

I saw a stack of pallets at the business near my home.  Hopefully they are still there when I go home.  I'll pick them up and cut them up for this trip.

Unless something changes, I am out. They have schedule a network upgrade for the 18th, which means I have to be there for it.

I hope they reschedule the upgrade, it would be fun to have you on this trip.

I just picked up some wood for the camping trip.  We'll see how much there is once I cut it up.

I read this too late. DW has scheduled dinner with friends this evening so we can't even make a one nightdress out of it.

Barring weather like today or snow covered roads, we should be there.

I'm planning on going... but it looks like it's going to be really cold.  I'm glad it's not far from home!

Ha!  That's a good pile.  It looks like I will be gutting my bathroom this weekend.  But assuming that gets put off, what time are you folks planning on being there?  Meaning is this just a Saturday night thing or Friday and Saturday or what?

I plan on heading up after work.  Usually I get out at 4, home by 5, at FC by 6.  I'm hoping to skip out a littler early on Friday.
