Mariska Hargitay , Cindy's BF and my family were just at Gifford Pinchot this past weekend. It is an awesome campground. I see we have an opening for a rally in July 2017. How about Gifford Pinchot?
HERE is a link to the State Park.
Since the last time I was there they have expanded the pet section. They have added Full Hook Ups to some sites as well. I will say the bath houses are still vintage 1982 and could use a remodel but they were clean. There was plenty of foliage between the campsite and it seemed that the campsites were well maintained with a dedicated gravel tent pad at each site and newer picnic tables.
There are 2 areas to swim in the lake. The day use area and the camping area....although the swimming area is a healthy walk or drive from where the pet loop is. The beach was nice and large with sand and a playground. Into the water was sand as well and not slimy or seaweedy. The lake is nice and large and the boat launch is semi near the pet loop. They have campground mooring slips so we could leave kayaks there locked up.
There is a pretty cool nature pavilion there and they do educational events on Saturday. We saw some snakes and we missed the bug event. It is a 3 mile crushed gravel trail between the campground and the day use area that bikes can go on.
There is cell service there with good Data reception.
So.....Want to go to Gifford Pinchot next July 2017?
