Chester County opening day for Trout fishing is March 29th.  Statewide it is April 12th.  This will be the second year that I take my son camping/fishing at Hibernia County Park in Chester County PA.  Last year we fished for 30 minutes and then played on the playground....but hey, I'm taking a 4yo fishing, that is what I expect.  Maybe this year we will fish for 45 minutes  :baseballhat:

The sites are $15 per night First Come First Serve.  Don't be afraid to come.  I have been here for the 2 "crowded" weekends and there were only maybe 12-20 sites occupied out of 50.  The campground has pit toilets and no showers.  They do have water spigots around.

I had a great time last year with my son and that is why we're going back.  They have a kids only fishing pond that is stocked.

If I had the time off to take I'd take you up on this invite. The problem is its a 4 hour trip, 239 miles. That campground looks perfect on Google Earth.

HERE is a video I took of the campground.  It is beautiful and since it doesn't even have a bath house it is not overcamped.

They have an Old Fiddlers Convention in August that I went to last year that was really nice.  During the day you could hear the music in the campground and it was nice ambiance.  I won't be able to make it this year because I'll be on a cruise but I would go back for it.  That was the other "crowded" weekend and there were not many campers.  In years past the fiddlers weekend used to sell out....it is called the "old" fiddlers convention, not many of them are in camping shape  :-.

I am not going to camp Friday night.  There is a 80% chance of rain.  Saturday there is a 50% chance fo showers so I will look out the window Saturday morning and decide if I'm gonna go or not. I will post something here on Saturday.  If I go, you are welcome camp with us or just stop by for a campfire Saturday night.

The hour by hour forecast says that it is going to continue raining until 9 AM Monday morning. I still may go fishing this afternoon as the crowds start thinning out. I was going to take my 4 yr old grandson fishing today, too but everyone in his family has the bug that is going around.

Yeah it is a bit too wet here for me to take my son out.  Plus my wife gave me the Honey do list so I gotta take care of that.
