Mariska Hargitay and I are going to Hibernia County Park in Chester County PA next weekend. It is a County park and only $15 per night with NO HOOKUPS. Usually it is a First Come First Serve campground BUT for the Old Fiddlers Picnic event they take reservations. In years past it was a popular event and they would sell out the campground. So far, they only have 8 sites reserved including Mariska's and my spots. We are going to be in sites 2 and 3 in the fiddlers loop. They have a nice lake and stream for boating and fishing, my son loves the playground there and they will have the music. HERE is a link to info on the Old Fiddlers Picnic. I think this is an awesome campground. We have a map that we will put up when we figure out how to. In the meantime, below is a video of the campground.

Big Baron....I'm on a Born Free website for my Class C and they are just kinda odd about Rallies. They like them super organized and planned out and they cost like $400 for 4 days. Needless to say, I haven't attended one of their rallies.
Suzanne....I know we have talked before about Hibernia before and their first come first serve reservations. This is the only weekend they take reservations so I was hoping that might entice you to come. Have fun at Cowans Gap. I'll definitely be here in late March for opening day of fishing season (for Chester county) if you want to check it out. This campground really does not get crowded at all, according to the secretary. Even this Fiddlers picnic hasn't been sold out in years.

Yea, I've had the Cowans ressies for awhile, with several friends joining us. It should be a good trip. We've never been there before & it's always nice to catch up with camping pals that we haven't seen in awhile.
Wow, I am surprised that Fiddlers doesn't sell out. I remember back in the day, that festival was packed.
I'll let you know what it is like after the trip. It may be a case of people not knowing to make reservations or realizing it doesn't sell out and they just show up and pitch a tent.

I have most of the RV packed and ready to go. I have 1 errand to run after work and then I'll be throwing what my wife put at the door in the RV and leaving. My niece and nephew will be joining me as well. Should be a good time.
......Now what am I forgeting to pack :dunno:

I had a blast camping this weekend. There were only a handful of sites occupied. You could easily just show up and get one if you wanted. The kids weren't really into the folk and bluegrass music, but they did OK with it. It was really cool to be in the campground or hiking around and hearing the music throughout the park. Real nice ambiance.
I really like this campground. Brand new tables, nice fire pit, nice area to park my RV (some spots are smaller but we did see a Class A pull in this weekend) not crowded at all, friendly rangers, there was much ground foliage -vs- some state parks that are overused and it is all trampled.
Granted there are no hookups and only a pit toilet, I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Even before the RV I had a potty in my popup that I used and hey, for a weekend, I can go without a shower and take a baby wipe bath. Also I have a decent battery to run things.

Worms were all over the ground. My son had fun finding them. "Hey Dad, Look what I found" :baseballhat:

At home before we left there was some mud. My son decided to "paint" the side of the RV. Thankfully I don't have one of those $75k RV's otherwise I would not have thought this was funny.

I didn't bother with my PUP since it was just me.

It was definitely a nice campground since it stays so empty. The sites are wide as opposed to deep. I wouldn't like this CG so much if it was crowded, since you're just a few feet away from the road, but I have the feeling the last time it was crowded was many years ago.
The music definitely wasn't my cup of tea (I'm pretty sure my ears bled at one point) but at the campsite and through the park it was great ambiance.
