My wife mentioned to me about possibly going to the 1000 Islands region next year for a trip and asked if I knew anything about it. Well, for once I know nothing about a subject, so I decided to come here and ask for any info that you would recommend me looking into or campgrounds in the area that you like. Not sure when we are going, but I might as well get started. Thanks in advance. BTW, I have 2 DD's that will be 4 & 6 at the time and a 9-10 month old that wll be here, if that would help for ideas.

Best Regards,
Norm

Do you mean 10000 Islands down here in SW Florida? If so, I would be able to make suggestions, I love to tell People where to go

Here's the NY State Park link for the region. http://nysparks.com/regions/th.....fault.aspx I've never stayed any though. There are several private campgrounds in Canada not far from the I-81 bridge. Both Canada and NY have boat to campgrounds out on the river. Have been by Canoe Point campground in NY many times and it looks real nice.

We camped at Wellesly Island SP when we were up there in 08 or 09.  Nice park, the only issue was having to pay the toll for the 1000 Island bridge everytime you wanted to go somewhere.

Thanks Dave, this is what I was looking for. I have my eye on a couple places, and I got a couple visitor magazines sent to me. Appreciate it.

I used to live in Watertown and work in restaurants in Alex Bay, Watertown, and Henderson.  When I wasn't working I could also be found in my apartment in Trenton, ON.

1000 Islands area offer a lot.  If you plan on visiting the CDN side, it's best if everybody has a passport or, if your state offers it, an enhanced driver's license.

I could probably steer you to a couple nice restaurants. :chef:
