A few people have mentioned they would be interested in camping before the Season Opener in March.  Who's game?

I figure it would have to be a last minute trip depending on the weather.  I don't think we'll have a problem with the sites booking up this time of year.  We can check the 10 day forecast and see if people are free the following weekend.  Should be enough time to get some clothes and food together.  I know I can bring a tub of firewood and 3 rounds for a communal fire on Sat night.

We probably won't need to put ice in the cooler that weekend  ;D

Sounds like fun.  Not sure I'd want to deal with my camper yet, but would totally throw a a space heater and a mattress into the back on my mom's minivan 😉

I can't help but laugh, here is our 10 day forecast.  That's 21 of a high temp on Tuesday.

Joe, don't you have your snowmobile pants you could put on to keep warm?

Now there's a good reason for a massive fire if I've ever seen one!

I'll bring enough for a small decent fire for at least 1 night.  If you want a fire all weekend long....we're going to have to look into buying some wood.

This is the 3rd time I have had a need for my utility trailer and it is full of coal.  I really need to work on my Coal bin trailer project so it frees up my utility trailer.  If it was empty there is a place near my that sells a 1/2 cord of wood for $65 I think.  Since I have the class C I could get a load in the trailer and just bring the trailer with me.  Alas....The trailer is full.

I really think the date is going to depend on the weather.  Obviously we aren't camping in 2 feet of snow and it would be better if it was at least in the 30's or higher during the day.  I picture it happening this way......

10 days out - Hey, next weekend doesn't look bad
5 days out - It's still looking good
Thursday before - everyone book their res
Friday - Show up and start the fire

I might be interested - getting the trailer out itself would be a challenge.

I have plans to go to French Creek this weekend, there is a group of Rpoders who I met last year going. Cold, no issue, I went last year it was 8 deg, 2011 with Matt and Tracy it was in the low teens.

The light wintry mix for this Friday in the forecast Joe posted has changed to "potentially significant snow accumulation".  I think it is safe to say it isn't happening this weekend.

Yak,  If you guys go this weekend, stay warm and safe.

We're game.

The is a certain lady camper who most of us probably know who had the rangers plow over a foot of snow from her site. Now that's a dedicated camper.

Significant snow? I say, "Bring it on!"

A few from an Rpod forum, a nice group of folks. There were a few guys tenting on Friday who left on Saturday morning and two Class C campers came in on Saturday afternoon, I don't think they got out of their campers.
