Hi I might be trading my k2500 suburban with 110k.  6.0. 3.73  4l80  7600lb capacity 2305lbs payload

For

a 2002 8.1 k2500 Avalanche bone stock, new tires  89k 3.73 4l80  11900lb capacity 2000lbs payload

I currently suffer 10 mpg and shoddy tow capacity
I figure dump it for big block 10mpg and increased tow capacity, 5.2 ft bed for a quad.
It's my 3rd vehicle dedicated tow.

I desire to take my quad and htt for solo hunting trips in the adirondacks and northern PA.

I can take a friend for my kids but that's a limited once or twice per season in the sub.

The Avalanche would be my hunting buddy, firewood hauler, family of 4 plus dog tv, boat tow Vehicle, and emergency use.

Am I nuts?

WOW.....didn't think Avalanche's were that tough.  Can you really fit a quad in the back?  I know it is pickup truck bedish but I thought it was a little narrower and how deep is the bed?  Would you have to have the tailgate down with the quad in it?  If so how does that affect towing the trailer?

I would need the tailgate down.  Inner width of 5ft 2" Ava bed: 48".    Width of quad: 47.2".  Weight of quad: 636lb
Wheel base of quad: 49"
Tongue wt of my htt: 650
Total wt: 1311 + 100lb wdh.

Ava payload: 2000lb -1411: 589lb passengers. 👎

I would tow with quad solo < 10% of 40 nights      1 or two trips with family.

Other option.  Keep the sub 2305lb payload/7600lb tow and order a roo 21ssL.

The sub hurts options for decent bunkhouse or decent toy haulers.

The Ava can out tow the sub with approximately 4000lbs more tow capacity.

The Ava could presently tow current tt and quad.    Haul quad whenever and do some dirty tasks.    The k2500 sub not so much.
