So it looks like the NE is going to be getting some snow this weekend.  I don't have a camping trip planned but I was wondering.....if you have no choice but to tow in the snow, what would you do differently?  Snowmobilers tow through snowstorms all the time but I don't think their trailers are super heavy and have brakes.  My trailer is 5,000# empty.  How do you prevent it from jackknifing?  Lighten the trailer brakes to prevent locking them up?

What are your thoughts?

On Ice Road Truckers I heard them say one time to never touch your trailer brakes on the ice, always downshift.  I don't know if that would apply to normal snowy road conditions but that is what they said.
