I looked through the other new post flag thread and I didn't see this covered.

Short part, the new flags don't seem  to be working properly in the boards that are nested.

Long version:  When I come onto the forum, probably like most people I look for the boards with the new post icon.  Almost every time, there's a flag on the Group Rally Zone board.  When I go into that board, there's no sub-boards listed with new posts.  I know there are new posts in some of these because of the last post dates.  I then go into these sub boards and they then show the new posts.

I'm pretty sure that you guys already know about this.  But I felt that I should report it just in case.  If it's something that can't be fixed, it isn't a big deal.  But hopefully it's something that hasn't been looked into and is an easy fix.

I use this as my book mark.

I click on it, then it logs in, then it takes me to ALL NEW POSTS.
I can then click on the newest post icon at the head of the topic list.

Sorry for the delayed response, but have been working on painting and crown molding our dining room for the last week.....

Its not a case of the <new> icon not work, its a case that now most modern browsers cache the icon and last settings to "save" you time and bandwidth. The problem is that until your browser catches up, sometimes the icon witll display when something isn't there, or not display when something is. There isn't much we can do about - at least for now.

What ALWAYS works, is the click the "Unread" word at the top left by the "Hi <your username>". That checks the database against last time you were here and shows you ALL of the new messages in every board.

A good habit to do, it to click "Unread", do through the list of new stuff you are interested in, the click unread again when you are all Mark All Messages Read. This effectively zero's  you out for the next time.
