Trick or Treat

I put a few feelers out last year seeing if anyone was interested in doing a Halloween camping trip in October and a few people were interested.  SPRING GULCH CAMPGROUND in New Holland PA (not far from French Creek) has Halloween themed weekends during the whole month of October.  Joe is looking into what kind of rate we can get for the October 4-6 weekend.  We were at this campground 3 years ago for a successful rally with everyone having a good time. There were plenty of water & electric sites and  :cat: pets :dog: were allowed on all of the sites.

They will have trick-or-treating, a site decoration contest and a DJ Dance on Saturday night.  This will be a great chance for the kids to wear their costume  O0 on more than just the 31st.  The Adults can also get into the fun as well .  I'm going to find a crossbow and a vest to go as Darryl from the Walking Dead.  Once we know the time of the trick or treating we can modify the time of our usual Pot Luck and campfire.....or just go to the dance!!  :dans2:

Who wants to trick or treat at Spring Gulch on October 4-6, 2013 ??

This should be a great time of the year to camp and fun for the family.  An excellent resort campground if you have never stayed here.  We will be planning some adult activities with maybe a cornhole tournament and evening beverages around a campfire.

If you are interested, let us know?

Would love to.  Currently scheduled to work.  Have off the following 3 weekends, would try to switch.  How solid are the Oct 4-6 dates?

Oct 4th looks to be the best weekend.  Oct 11 weekend is Columbus day with a 3 day minimum, the weekend after that I have plans and then we are super close to the Thanksgiving Rally Nov 1 weekend.  Plus with it being the first Halloween weekend there is the possibility they'll work with us on the rate....TBD.

That weekend is perfect for us!  Any later and I might be forced to choose between camping and my own party.  And, well, lets not go there :chef:

Butch, Glad you and Jenn are in on this one.  Should be a great time for the kids.....AND the adults.

You don't have to be a kid to have fun at Halloween.

Glad to hear so many are interested.  I really think this could be a memorable Rally   I will call on Monday and book my reservation to get things moving.  Joe said the 600 area by the creek would be a good place for us to be.

If anyone wants to give me a hand running this rally, let me know.  Nothing major is needed, just checking things when I get distracted at work and talking things out when I need another brain.

I just received the contract and will review it over the weekend and return it on Monday.  You can't book before.

I have updated the beginning of the thread to include a map with our group sites in yellow. (Sites are 500s and 600s) - the rate is discounted to $30 per night.  This is a great camping resort, more than a campground.  Even with the off-season, there are many activities includes a spa where you can schedule a massage in advance or a stocked pond for fishing. (no license needed)

As Matt mentioned, we are looking for a second person to help with this rally.  Most activities are run by the campground so it's mostly updating the thread as people book and answering questions.

That's a great price. It's a rough time of year for me work-wise, but close enough to home I don't need to take off Friday.  I just reserved the TV, let us know when we can book!

We should be able to book soon.  Paperwork BS that has to get done first is what is going on now.
