It's not a good time of the year to be looking for a camper but we found one on craigs list that we are hoping to look at this weekend.  The only problem that we already know is that the refrigerator doesn't work.  If you have one, do you use it?  Can we buy a new one to replace this one?

This is the perfect time of year to be shopping for a camper.  Everyone is looking to buy/sell in the spring and they go way too fast.  I bought my first popup in November 2008 when the camping season was over.

As for the fridge....I have never had one in any of my popups. I never camped with one before, I always did tent camping previously with coolers.  I usually freeze a few water bottles, freeze all the meat, and make my own thicker ice cubes during the week before I camp.  Then I may buy a bag of ice on Saturday depending on the situation.

That being said I think I would use a fridge if I had one.  If I had one and it was broken, I would look into fixing it.  The next camper that DW and I buy will be less than 5 years old and will have many options but it will probably also have a monthly payment.

Don't let a broken fridge make you not look at this.  It could still be a good deal even with a broken fridge.

If the Popup is a good deal, a broken refrigerator isn't a deal breaker. The best of is that you are already gas plumbed for it.

Depending on the size and whether you want 2 way (Gas/Electric) or 3 way (Gas/Electric/12V) they range from $400 to $750

We didn't have a frig in our first two pups and didn't care for the one in our new pup as it was so small and you had to stand on your head to use it.  I would buy a small dorm frig and set it up under the awning if it were me.  They are also much cheaper.  I think you can get one of those for under a hundred and it is bigger.  Good luck with the camper.

I didn't think that I wanted a little fridge in the Pup or that I would ever use it.
I love having it there!!!!
I don't want to go outside naked first thing in the morning to get milk or creamer and I'm sure everyone else appreciates that too!
Everything that is in it will stay dry. I keep most of the small jars and/or containers in it, plus meat and other soft stuff.
I have a big cooler that sits outside.

Thinking about it now, it would be nice to have 2 fridges inside ;D

It is nice, we've got one dorm and the 3-way, like i mentioned in scmomma's post, only thing we put in a cooler is beer and other beverages.

We keep cheese, eggs, milk, creamer, and opened packages of meat in the fridge.  It is not the smallest fridge, IRCC 3.5cuft.

you could always use the broken one for storage of things like bread or whatever and buy a small dorm fridge like several people have mentioned....i don't think i would let something like that be a deal breaker but i am pretty easy going 😀

PS....Consider it storage space...can't have too much of that in a PUP can ya?
