Big Meadows or Matthews Arm in Shenandoah.

Does anyone have an opinion on which of these campgrounds is best? We will be taking a vacation this August with our hybrid and wanted to spend a few days in this area. Apparently Matthews Arm has no showers, but otherwise it looks to be a toss up judging from the descriptions. Any advice would be appreciated.

We stayed at Big Meadows for a week. It is a great area with a lot of trails. Across the road there is a trail that goes beside a stream and has some water holes to cool down in. I have never been to Matthews so I cant say how it is.

Big Meadows is my vote, great Campground and a beautiful old lodge to relax in. Lot's to explore and do right from your site.
