We just returned from a weekend at David Crockett State Park in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. We had a great time! This may be the best park that we have camped to date. The kids and the adults enjoyed playing in the creek, riding bikes, nature walks and abundant wildlife. The park is very clean and well kept. The sites are pretty spacious, about the same as all state parks that we have camped in. The bathhouses were nice and clean. The camp host and office staff were very nice. The park has a museum which tells the story of David Crockett. It was very quiet and everyone was very hospitable. Playgrounds wasn't the biggest but they were also very nice and clean. We will be going back again in three weeks if anyone would like to join us. Pm me and we will set something up. I would rate it a 8 out of 10 for what our family enjoys doing.
The only thing that was strange to me is the dump station is at the entrance/exit for the camp ground. traffic got a little congested when about 5 of us decided to pull out at the same time. Also the dump station sets a little higher than the road, therefor dumping the tanks was interesting. I had to jack the back end of our camper up several inches to get it to dump properly.
PS - state park restaurant is exceptional.
