In early June of 2105 we arrived at Gettysburg Campground for a six day stay to visit Gettysburg and the surrounding areas. When we arrived and went to check in, we were greeted by the campground staff who were very friendly and extremely helpful. The staff seemed genuinely interested in helping us with any questions about the area and went beyond any campground staff that we have had recent experience with.
We had a site on Marsh Creek with water, electric and sewer. The sites were smaller (we're used to state parks), but very typical of most resort area campgrounds. The site was neat and clean when we arrived. It also had cable TV and pretty decent wireless internet.
We found the bathrooms were clean and well stocked, no matter when we used them. The campground is overall well kept and nicely groomed and maintained. It has shuffleboard, volleyball, children's playground, mini-golf, horseshoes and a game room all of which are kept in very nice shape. We didn't use the pool because of time constraints, but it looked very inviting.
Our group used the Pavilion for a Saturday night Potluck and it was exemplary. Exactly the same as the rest of our experience there.
Pets are welcome, I mean really welcome. One of the staff in his rounds with the golf cart stopped by multiple times over our stay to give our dog a treat which he keeps in his cart for that purpose. I have never seen that in a campground before. Matter of fact, neither had Kyleigh (our 4 legged camper).
The campground store had plenty of supplies (including Civil War memorabilia) as well as an Ice Cream parlor and a snack bar serving breakfast and lunch.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay there and wish it was much closer to us.
