We just got back from a week long trip in the Adirondack Forest at Little Sands Point NYS CG. We had previously camped their a couple years ago and had an awesome trip, this year was the same expirience. It is a very small CG with many of their sites right on the water so we tied up our kayak and canoe right there, the little ones splashed in the warm lake water while we watched big brother paddle around.
I was a bit anxious about the holiday but although the sites did fill up they were not all full and with the gorgeous trees and shade offered their was also privacy between sites. It is a boondocking trip with no hook-ups at any of the sites but in the summer it really wasn't a problem and they do allow the use of generaters between 9-11am and 4-7pm.
There are actually three small camp grounds on this stretch of the lake and none have showers at the individual camp grounds but there is a beautiful shower house on the main road between all of them. The showers are all unisex and you enter from the outside into your private shower stall. The water pressure was great and the water hot too  🙂 a must for me! All the park is super well maintained and toilets and showers clean.
The CG is just a few a minutes from Speculator NY and about an hour from Old Forge, NY. The sky was clear, the moon was bright and the loons "singing" on the lake made it perfect!
