We had a fantastic trip to Shenandoa a year (hell, maybe two years) ago and we are looking to head back down that way about the 25th of September. Any thoughts on Smith Mountain? Shenandoa was great for me as it reminded me of all the summers spent in the WV mountains. On the other hand I love big lakes and we missed out on our annual trip to Codorus this year and it's always fun to try something new!
Random thoughts, musings - and of course specific info that park are all welcome!
Edit - I spoke too soon. Smith Mountain is 400 miles compared to 275 for Shenandoa. I don't really think I want to go over 300 miles for this long weekend trip.
