That is a bummer!  What a catastrophe that would be if we couldn't camp in our national parks!

While not camping related, this weekend is the National Cherry Blossom Festival in DC.  There are lots of groups there for the parade (i.e., high school bands) as well as a number of tourists for the event.  Fortunately for them, the parade will go on as scheduled regardless according to the official web site, but a lot of the other attractions in DC that people visit while they're here would be closed: the Smithsonian museums, Washington monument, national aquarium, national zoo, associated gift shops and many others.

I wonder how this will affect National Forests.  I have a 4 day camping / fishing trip in a week  and a half in WV at Monogahela National Forest.  Even if the forest is open, will they still stock the streams?  Will the camp grounds be open?

Not to worry about the parks closing this time...Congress, Senate, & White House were finally able to agree on a budget at the 11th hour last night. Here's some information on the FY11  Federal Budget
