Thanks Kpagano, I'm on the fence if I want a patio mat or not... I feel like it takes away from the outdoor feeling, but when I'm at a rally, I really like everyone elses.
How do you know what's a good awning mat, versus a heavy outdoor rug when shopping online?
Here's a link to what I think you are talking about http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp......venue=cgen You can also do a search for reversible patiomats and I think narrow out the ones that are heavy?

I don't bother using my mat when on pavement/concrete or really nice gravel sites (like the ones we had at Gettysburg). They are great if you are in grass, sand, dirt lot kind of site. They are not heavy, do fold up, a little bulky when folded, but they do fit in a kitchen trash bag to bring home if they are pretty wet when you pack up. The sand/dirt shakes out SO much easier than artificial turf.
BUT, they do degrade in direct sunlight such as on a deck. If you are going to use them outside at your house, they will fall apart if left in a spot where they get sun all day long during the summer.
That being said, I've had my mat for 5 years. Got mine from an online source I can't find at the moment. But Walmart also has them. $40 or less.
