Folks, I am making what called RV Nite Lite. It plugs into your 7 wire trailer plug into this unit and the exterior trailer lights will come on without having to be tied to your travel vehicle. This unit works off your camper battery and when the battery voltage drops below 12 volts, your power inverter will automatically start recharging your battery long as your camper is hooked up to shore line power or to 120 volts. This will no work if you are boon docking or without 120 volts. It lights your camper -pop ups, T.T. hybrid, 5 Th wheel, so you and your kids can find your camper easier at night. Your camping neighbors will be wondering how you have your camper lights on when not attached to the tow vehicle.

Note there is no lights on, nothing hooked up to the trailer plug.

We really like our RV Nite Lite, Jimmy. We especially like the fact that the lights are on all night on all sides of the camper in case we need to go outside during the night or peek out the windows to see what is making "that" noise (as in raccoons maybe). The lights aren't enough to annoy fellow campers either. It was nice findng our battery charged the next day when hitching up with our electric jack too!

Seen alot of home made versions, some even use a flasher unit so you can have the lights blinking, incase you have to leave the trailer on the side of the road... A real simple way of doing this is just to jump two pins on the 7 pin plug.. Google "ozandus dongle" and you can see the images/schematic to make one yourself...
