I went camping this past weekend at Ricketts Glen SP in PA with no electricity. I use a CPAP machine which normally gets plugged in to an outlet. I don't let that stop me from going to beautiful places that do not have electric at the sites. Others have discussed hooking up their CPAP machines to a 12V source. Below is a video I made of how I do it. I get 2 full nights out of my jump pack. I also have the ability to hook it up directly to my deep cycle battery and get more. I don't know how many amps it pulls so I don't know exactly how long my Deep Cycle Battery will last. I am still researching that.

Last year when we went out west I knew I would have a span of 10 days without any power. I bought a 12 volt converter for my cpap and a female cigarette receiver and put gator clips on it. I then got bought a spare rv battery and used that for my cpap. it lasted all 10 days with no problem and could have gone longer. I was even able to use the humidifier with it. I thought it would draw to much to last the 10 days. I did test it at home to make sure it would work by using my existing camper's battery before I bought one. I now take it on shorter trips when I know I wont have electricity. I transport the battery in my truck bed but once at the camp ground I set it on the back bumper and fish the cable up where the beds get strapped underneath and set the cpap right next to the bed on the counter. Works great and was a lot cheaper than buying the cpap batteries. And I have a spare battery for the camper at home as well.
If I was tent camping I would probably get the actual responcis battery due to size and weight....but I am in a popup. I wound up with my current set up due to starting out with a jump pack. I go to a 3 night car show/flea market and found out my jump pack is only good for 2 nights :tickedoff: So this year when I went to my car show I knew I needed to do something for that third night. My Deep Cycle Battery for my sump pump was bad, The Deep Cycle Battery on the popup was small and kind of old, and I needed a battery for my trolling motor on my boat...so I was able to talk DW into getting the biggest battery I could get to handle all 3. I don't know how that is going to work out in my 10 foot rowboat yet, but it works on the pup and with the sump pump. I take my jump pack and the gator clip 12V adapter and I am set.
I have a 12V adapter in my roof for a bunk fan/light combo (high tech for 1992). I tried plugging into it not expecting much and I had the same issue with the radio shack cord....not thick enough and couldn't handle the draw.

I purchased the Resporonics 12V adapter cable for about $25-$30.00. Also bought the female cig adapter with the two alligator clips on the ends to hook to the battery posts which cost me about $12.00. I used it at two NP's this past August and it worked just like I planned! Used it for 4 nights at Glacier NP and then we stayed at a KOA for a night and then to Yellowstone for 4 more nights. It was nice to stay at the KOA and get the battery topped off with hookups.
Forgot to mention that I did not bring the humidifier on the trip. That would have drawn more from the battery anyway.

I just came accross this picture of my son. He gives us no hassle when we have to use the nebulizer on him 'cause it is just like Daddy's machine. In fact, when he is done with his nebulizer, he puts it on the nightstand next to my CPAP
