Anyone here consider 'full-timing"?

Although I've got a PUP at present, I am seriously considering selling all, disbursing my possessions (prior to demise) and hitting the road.  Am considering a Travel Trailer, maybe a newer truck....

Have nationwide CG membership (paid for), annual dues $600, which beats the property taxes, HO ins., stick & brick maintenance, upkeep, etc.

Any thoughts or input?

Yes, my wife and I have discussed full timing it after I retire.

If we were to do it, we would have a 5er instead of a TT.  We really like the ones with a lounge up front instead of the bedroom.

I doubt we actually full time it.  We would likely be home during the Summer and travel Fall, Winter and Spring.  I gotta have my gardening fix.

same here. i'll retiring next year and we've discussed full-timing and other options.
we've decided that we'll probably stay home spring/summer and then travel for the fall and winter.
we first thought we get a 5th wheel, then a Class Super C MH and now we're back to a 5th wheel.
the new auto-leveling features that 5th wheels can get now, was the only advantage that MH's had over a 5th wheel, IMHO.
we've looked at the ones with the front lounge and the front kitchen.
but we'll probably end up with a rear kitchen model.

I work at an RV Park and meet full timers, it seems like a cool lifestyle, they basically follow the weather. It must take a lot of pre planning to prevent poor management and a foul weather, bad time. Other wise they meet friends in different places, have mail forwarded and are connected. 8)

If I were to do it (in 30 years) I would still need to have a place to pull off the road and call home.  I remember being a kid and the guy down the block would travel 3 weeks a month in his Bronco and TT.  His twenty something daughter lived in the house and he and his wife would come home to get their social security check and pay some bills and other BS.  I remember watching him try to back into the driveway many times (long trailer with a narrow street....very entertaining)

My grandparents full-timed in a Airstream for years. I've always thought it looked like a great way to take your time and see everything you never had time to do/see while working full time.

My thoughts on this were to incorporate my love for travel, as well as disbursing my possessions, reducing expenses.  I am no longer in a position to 'maintain' a stick n brick without paying out the ying, and, as we all know.....ya can't take it with ya....so why not get rid of it now.  Kids won't have to worry about wills/probate, taxes, etc.  My expenses will be reduced by half if not more (property taxes, insurance, maintenance/upkeep).  Your thoughts?

Pattie,  I support your idea of downsizing later in life.  It took over a year to clean out my parents house so that my mom could move to a 2 bedroom townhouse near my sister and I.  There was soooo much stuff in the house.

Also cutting back the expenses makes sense.  Some people have said my Mom's association fee is too much at $300 per month (takes care of everything outside).....but she was paying more to have the lawn mowed and I was out of state so she constantly had to call someone and pay them to unclog a drain or do this or that.  It came to be more than the $300 per month.
