Oh my God, what is wrong with people!? These guys are like the horrible people who put nails in cheese and leave them on the ground of the dog park.

How about we make people be the victim of their own traps?

I saw that story. Amazing. It's so fortunate that the particular officer who discovered it had the experience to know what he was seeing when he spotted that trip wire!

Cindy, I'd like to see the traps moved and the same idiots run through the trail hoping they don't get nailed.

John, I know.

Fifteen to twenty-five year old males have to be the dumbest creatures under the sun, I'm amazed any of them live long enough to propagate the species. Thank God they usually straighten up around 25, or we'd be doomed. Don't even get me started on the clueless girls..... ::)

I don't know about bad, bored more likely, and with no concept that others have feelings, and actions have consequences.

I saw the story as well and was appalled that someone would actually do something like that.

A few years ago here in NJ we had a similar incident in one of the mountain bike friendly parks. Some hikers didn't feel that biking should be allowed, so they started stringing wire at about neck height on the more popular bike trails...thankfully no one got hurt before it was discovered and removed. But you have to ask yourself - the people that do this, are they actually aware of the consequences of their actions? or have they played so many video games in the last 20 years that they thing everyone can "reset" their life??

That's like the Mensa candidates that string wire up on snowmobiling trails, because they don't want people on their property. I can understand why it might upset someone, but call the cops, don't be-head someone! I'm sure electronic media has influenced, and desensitized people to the point that either they just don't get it, or don't care. I'm an older mom, and I definitely see a level of callousness and insensitivity in my daughter's peer group that she doesn't have, and I wonder if it's due to be raised by people of a different generation, or maybe we campers are a different sort?  🙂
