I use an ADCO breathable cover and love it.
It works so well that we didn't even know we had a leak in the roof from missing AC bolts until we did a trip in the rain. The unit has been rained on tons of time at home with the cover on and never got a drop in.

I've simply used the 4 mil construction plastic and it's worked out fine and certainly cost less. Tie it down on all four corners, then run a line side to side and fore & aft on the outside to hold it down when it gets breezy. Do roll the awning up on the roof and this (along with the roof vent) offers a air space.
