Our pup is way to heavy to manhandle around the site... If we want it turned we have to do it before we unhitch.. To this point in time we have only sort of done this twice... once we parked the pup about 90 degrees from the gravel pad... was easier to back it in there then it was to reconnect the tv to head home..
I tried to once last year. turned into a SPUT. I unhitched the camper and tried to wheel the camper around. it was fairly level an solid ground. I tugged and tugged at it but would not roll. So I hitched back up and tried to jackknife it. The wheels would not roll. Then it dawned on me. I disconnected the brakes and did not have the safety pin in. That won't happen again.
I positioned my popup sideways this past weekend at Ricketts Glen. I saw pictures of someone else in the same spot and I liked it so I reserved the same spot and planned to do the same. I was able to back it in although I did jacknife it at one point (small ding in the bumper). It would have gone easier if I had someone with me or if it wasn't pitch black out. I think the key is if you can position it with your TV. I wouldn't try to maneuver it manually unless I had 1 or 2 other adults to move it.
But it worked out perfect. I wanted to walk out my door in the morning and just see the lake.
