We're thinking of camping up in Maine next summer and was wondering if anyone can recommend a campground that's close to where the eateries are that serve up the fresh catch (aka Maine lobsters). We will have a ~20 month old baby with us so it needs to be pretty much child friendly with a least electric hookup and full indoor bathrooms and showers. Or this can be an idea for a CC meet. 🙂

Mmm Lobster, Florida Lobsters are much smaller but sweeter meat, don't need to dip in butter 8)
But Mmm isn't everything better with butter ;D

Tony,

You didn't say where you wanted to go in Maine, and it is a pretty big state (not like NJ)  ;D

I've stayed in Old Orchard a few times at Bayleys Camping Resort. Nice place, good location, but a bit on the expensive side ($68/night W/E/C).  We liked it because it was close to the beach (and lobster pound), also a short drive to Cape Elizabeth, Portland, Freeport, and Kennebunport.

I looked to see if there are actually any beach front campgrounds in that same area and found Libbys Oceanside Camp, which gets good ratings from RV Park Reviews, but this one is also on the expensive side ($79-$89/night depending on location W/E/S/C). We met up Kris, Karen & Vaugn W. up here and did a really nice road ride with Karen - beautiful area for road riding.

Try using EPG Soft to help you research the campgrounds/resorts in the area - it is a great site that has links for campground reviews as well as the websites (if available) for the campgrounds.

Dawn, we're looking for anywhere with easy access to lobsters. The place you mentioned with good road riding sounds nice so we can take Andrew out on the trailer.
