We are going on a trip from NY to FL this summer and were really excited to find a Comfort Inn hotel that has its own camping loop with hook ups for $30/night. Perfect for us since its for a one nighter. We had never heard of these before (probably due to being northerners). But it is easy access to the highway so we don't have to go too far off the beaten track for one night stay and it is rarely full. Unlike alot of the State Parks and even private cg's during the busy summer months.
Wanted to pass it along and also see if anyone has ever used one of these.
Duh!!! I forgot to enter the link to the South Carolina one we are staying at. It looks like there are others in AZ and a few other states also.

Basically a campground is a hotel that doesn't need maids...only landscapers 🙂
I checked out the Comfort Inn website and they don't mention a thing about it. Their nightly rate is $59. I wonder if the campsites are from a time long ago when the hotel was independently owned or something. It makes sense, especially along 95. If I owned the hotel and had a large field it would be a way to boost my income.
I don't know if I would do it in a popup but in a TT I would totally do it.

This Comfort Inn is on I95 just south of the I26 intersection. Here is the contact info St. Georges RV Park, 843-563-4180, gm.sc080@choicehotels.com. I called them to make reservations for our trip and was connected with the front desk at the hotel. They do not accept reservations and the lady told me she has never seen the park full in her 6 years with the company. $30/night gets you hookups and the spot. You can use the pool at the Hotel. She told me you have to pay for the continental breakfast, $4/person I think. I have heard they have waived this in the past. All in all it is perfect for us. Quick in and out and next to the interstate. We will be staying on the way down and on the way back from Florida.
I can tell you my experience from working in hotels with a continental breakfast......nobody knows if you are really a guest or what room you are in (provided it is not a restaurant set up, just a buffet and tables in a common area). Everyone will just assume you checked in during someone else's shift. My last hotel had eggs, waffles, meat, pastries, etc on a buffett and I know people would just walk in off of the street and eat. Nobody working in a hotel wants to insult a guest and say "are you REALLY a guest?"
If you are ever traveling and want to use a clean bathroom, just stop at a hotel. Same scenario. Pools can be a little tricky since many pools need a key card to enter, but people do that as well. Hotel employees know this stuff happens all the time but as long as you don't 'cause trouble....they don't care.
