I was browsing, strangely enough for CNC stuff and ran across this.  It's a very lightweight modular camper kit system and it looks like you can customize for whatever size trailer or pickup bed you want.  You could even use it for a ground-based shelter.

Seems a pricey for the size, considering you also have to purchase the trailer, but you do have a hard-sided trailer when you're done.  I think a one good use might people building toyhaulers on flatbeds.

You'd definitely get some looks driving down the road.  It doesn't look like any other camper I've ever seen.

No I haven't seen them before and like you said they seem pricey.

Interesting.  Might make sense to someone who already has a utility trailer in their yard and don't want another trailer.

Interesting.  Kind of looks like a cross between an VW Microbus and one of those tour submarines in Jamaica..

You can buy a new 4'x8' open trailer for $450 and can buy used ones for $100.  For another $7,300 for the camper kit, why not just own both for the $100 difference?  It is a 'different' idea and might have some better use that I can't think of right now.

Looking in the AlaCarte section of the store, I really do like the hanging shelf system, but it is also a bit high priced.  Maybe a mod this summer.
