Everyone we camp with seems to get firewood different ways, what do you do?
We look for local neighbors of the campground a few miles away for the best buy for firewood.

I really enjoy cutting a splitting firewood, so we always have plenty. We always carry/haul our wood when we camp.

I voted other only because there was not an "all of the above" choice. I have used all of the choices you listed for getting firewood. Usually I bring it from home but if for some reason we run out I'll use the other options to get more if need be.

We usually buy a bundle from the local grocery store (Kroger) if we're in GA or from the campground store/registration office if we're out of state, especially when there is a firewood ban from out-of-state wood. We really never have a fire every night since it rains on and off a lot when we camp. 🙁

I just got this sticker for my truck the other day.  I have a wood/coal burning stove and I gather wood from Craigslist all the time.  I will bring a tub or 2 of firewood if I am camping within Pennsylvania.  I have also gathered wood if I am at a State Park.  The trick is to go someplace not near the campground.  I will grab a saw, go to a trailhead parking lot and just start gathering it.  There is usually tons of it on the ground when you are not near the campground.

Depends on where we are camping.. if it is local (somewhere in the Province) then we generally take wood from home (if there is any wood, I borrow wood from my sisters cottage, store it at my parents and then take it campering), if there is no wood in the pile, or if there is not enough then I'll buy a couple bags from the cg as needed, I usually buy at least one bag anyways..  We also scavenge the cg for unused wood left behind by others..  If we are campering across the Border, then we have little choice but to either buy from the cg or find a place close by to buy from...

I look for new home construction around my house.  I will pick up on 2x4, 2x6, etc.  I will cut all to lengths of 16" and stack bundles and wrap with stretch wrap.  Small scraps will go in the outside pit at home for burning.  I prefer 2x6, 2x8, etc better than the 2x4's because I will split them in two when I get ready for use at the CS.  When I run out, I purchase from the CP store.  The scrap is free and stacks nicely when traveling.

We usually buy it from the cg to save weight, but we have brought it from home too.

I like to bring it from home and sometimes other campers will give us theirs when they leave.

I use 2x lumber when i can get some as well. Do you have any concerns when cooking over your fire with construction grade lumber? Obviously no pressure treated or any type of plywood or laminated wood, just 2x4,6,8 etc.

It's time to clean up the yard. We always have lots of branches that fall off our maple trees. We cut and stack the branches to use as kindling when we camp. The bigger stuff we buy near or at the campground.

After all the windy weather we have had over late winter and early spring, I'm collecting twigs and small branches for tinder/fire starters. It came in handy last month in Florida when we had chilly nights around the campfire.
