how late do you sit by the fire. I usually stay up til 11:00 or 12:00, as I like to get up early for fishing.

I usually don't last much longer than dark.  I'm usually ready for the bed after all the fresh air and exercise.

As a kid in the boy scouts we would sit around the fire until very late, sometimes 4 am on a Saturday night (the leaders would start getting up at 6ish).  We would sleep in the cars on the way home.  As an adult, I usually stay up until 10ish.  Now I am the one getting up at 6ish.

10 to 11, by that time it's time to hit the hay.

The boys are usually tuckered out by 10:00 and DW is not far behind them.  I will then sit by the fire reclined in my gravity chair watching the fire and stars till 11 or 12

Usually until it's out, which sometimes is really late or really early in the AM depending on the crowd from that night before

I am usually watching the fire until 12 or 1.  DW is done by 11,  normally.  Kids are in bed at 10, just to give us a little time of peace and quiet.

I dunno.  When I'm camping I turn in when I'm tired.  I don't pay attention to the time.

Almost always the last to go in.  will sit and zone out at the fire till 2 or 3.
The quiet time is my favorite time.

It depends on how tired I am and how clear the night sky is when the fire is dying down. Living in the congested suburbs of Detroit, stars are a bit of a novelty. The combination of a sky full of stars, a warm glowing fire and the peace of a quiet night will keep me up for quite awhile even if I'm dead tired.

I tend to get up early, around 5 am so 11 is pretty late for me.
Sitting around the campfire is still the best part of the camping trip no matter when I conk out.

Kids go to bed around 10... exhausted.  Normally we are around 11 and every so often till midnight but I don't sleep in so it's rare we last later.

Campfire smoke triggers my allergies/asthma, so I'm not a full time fan, but will enjoy it for a bit, then when the others are ready to go to bed, I'm adamant about putting out the fire completely and will have water in which to douse it.  Most times the fire's out about 10pm.

When we have a camp fire ... which is often ... we like to sit around it after supper and the evening chores are done. Of course, who does not like marshmellows(?) ... (desert). But I'm getting to be an old fart and usually worn out early so I don't linger long like I use to when younger. If there's no real early plan on fishing (trout quite often will really start to rise to the surface around 9:00/10:00 am so that means I can do the fire thing real early in the morning and enjoy the morning coffee fireside.

I will sit by the fire til 2 or 3am if it's a nice night. I am usually the last one in and the first one up, thats probably why I'm cranky most of the time...... >:(

never thought to do a morning campfire....that does sound lovely.....a cup of coffee warming your hands and the flickering light from a campfire.....sounds good to me!

I'd didn't actually time it this weekend, but we were up several hours past dark.  A site near to us was practicing "No log left unburned."  They had a roaring fire in their pit.

Usually after midnight sometime.  DW's in earlier but i like to sit and, as said above, zone out while the fire burns down.

.

One of my favourite things to do camping is having a morning campfire.  Add to that the kids in their jammers, eating their cereal, wrapped in blankets while DW gets to sleep in.  Makes us all happy!
